Carmel is known for its commitment to the preservation of historic homes. If you are looking at an older home, be aware that it might have been, or could be, deemed historic. This isn't a problem, but it is important to understand what being an historic home means. You can read about Carmel's historic homes policy here.

On busy weekends the residential streets near the city center can be impacted by traffic, as can those near the beach. Before making an offer on a Carmel home it is important to understand this and some of the other quirks of our small town.
